WCMS Receives Grant from The Delta Dental Foundation
The Western Carolina Medical Society (WCMS) is pleased to announce that the Delta Dental Foundation has awarded WCMS a grant to provide medical interpreting at the upcoming North Carolina Dental Society Mission of Mercy Clinic (NCMOM) in Asheville, NC. The Mission of Mercy Clinic will take place September 6-7, 2024, at the Biltmore Church – East Asheville Campus, located at 801 Fairview Rd, Asheville, NC 28803. With this generous grant from the Delta Dental Foundation, WCMS will offer free medical interpreting throughout the clinic. Medical interpreters are a crucial part of the NCMOM clinic. They serve as the bridge between the medical staff and patients to ensure clear, knowledgeable communication. We are grateful to the Delta Dental Foundation for their contribution to help provide this essential role,” stated Dr. Cameron Swift with the NC Dental Society.
“This funding will enable patients to communicate in their native languages and receive care they understand at the Mission of Mercy Clinic. We are deeply appreciative of the Delta Dental Foundation and the NC Dental Society for their incredible partnership,” said WCMS Director of Health Access & Equity Programs Rosalía McHattie.
