Overview
The Western North Carolina Colorectal Cancer Screening Initiative (WNC-CRCSI) is looking for someone to attend outreach events and visit primary care clinics to educate medical providers, staff, patients, and community members about the WNC-CRCSI, colorectal cancer, and local screening options. The position will also be responsible for supplying partnering clinics with program materials and updates as needed. The position reports to the Program Director and Program Manager. Potential for research presentations such as abstract or poster at academic meetings. A stipend and mileage reimbursement will be provided.
Responsibilities
- Attend community outreach events to provide education and materials regarding colorectal cancer. (These may fall during weekend hours.)
- Visit partnering primary care clinics to provide program information, supplies, and materials to providers and staff.
Qualifications:
Required Skills
- Interest in public health or healthcare career preferred.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Availability to periodically meet online with program team members.
- Able to work independently.
- Reliable method of transportation.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Flexibility in hours, including some weekend coverage.
Location:
- Remote meetings as well as on-site attendance for clinic visits and outreach events. Serving clinics primarily in Jackson, Macon, and Swain Counties with possible outreach in Graham, Clay and Cherokee Counties as well.
Salary Level:
- A stipend will be offered.
Hours Per Week:
- Variable hours, with a maximum of 100 hours through December 2025.
